The open-world design allows the player to freely navigate Vice City, which consists of two main islands. The game is played from a third person perspective, and the world moves on foot or by car. After being ambushed by drug trafficking, he searches for the culprits while building a criminal empire and seizing power from other criminal organizations in the city. The game takes place in a fictional Vice City based in Miami, following Tommy Vercetti after his release from prison.
It is the sixth title in the Grand Theft Auto series and the first major title since 2001. An enhanced version was released for mobile platforms in 2012, marking the game’s 10th anniversary.
